NBC, Burlington Twp. to square off in final

HAMMONTON » It’s going to an all-Burlington County final in the championsh­ip game of the St. Joe’s of Hammonton Softball Tournament on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. after Burlington Township and Northern Burlington both won two games Saturday.

Smoking the ball all day, Northern Burlington crushed Benedictin­e, 13-2, and Triton Regional, 14-0. Amanda Gonzalez picked up both pitching wins, finishing with 10 strikeouts on the day.

The second-ranked Hounds (11-2) were led at the plate by Cameron Cassidy (seven hits), Megan Berg (five hits, six RBIs), Lexi Blue (five hits, five RBIs), Madison Sisz (five hits) and Nicole Bondoc (four hits). Julia Mayernik blasted a home run in game two.

Burlington Township (10-1), meanwhile beat Timber Creek, 6-1, and host St. Joe’s, 5-1. Bailey Enoch got both wins and had 14 strikeouts.

Gracyn Banks homered against Timber Creek, and Mattison and Mackenzie Fitzpatric­k doubled. Anaya Hunte had two hits in the win over St. Joe’s.
