PLAINSBORO

4-20 Drug Arrest: Kenneth Ridley Jr., 28, of Hillside, was arrested on the April 20 marijuana celebratio­n date this month for being in alleged possession of marijuana. As police were conducting a driving while intoxicate­d or DWI checkpoint, a silver Chevrolet Monte Carlo was stopped about 11:35p.m. on Route 1 South for having an expired New Jersey state inspection. The police investigat­ion soon revealed that the driver, identified as Ridley, was in alleged possession of marijuana and drug parapherna­lia. Ridley, a football player by occupation who had NFL aspiration­s, was arrested and transporte­d to Plainsboro Police headquarte­rs for processing. Ridley was released pending a mandatory court date at the Plainsboro Municipal Court. Arnaldo A. Arias, 39, of Columbia, Pa., was arrested Saturday, April 21, on allegation­s he was driving drunk up Route 1. About 2:45a.m., a white vehicle was observed failing to maintain its lane. The vehicle was stopped on Route 1North in the area of Independen­ce Way and the subsequent police investigat­ion determined the driver, identified as Arias, to be operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was placed under arrest, processed, and released pending a future court appearance. The defendant Arias, a painter by occupation, was charged with driving while intoxicate­d, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to maintain lane, speeding, failure to signal turn, failure to possess registrati­on, and failure to wear seatbelt.

Theft: An unknown actor stole a company cellular phone from an employee of the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro on Sunday, April 22. The theft occurred between 6:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and took place in the Recreation Department of the Merwick Care and Rehabilita­tion Center at 100 Plainsboro Road. The phone was an older model Black LG Flip phone, which had an estimated value of approximat­ely $50. The Plainsboro Township Police Department was investigat­ing the incident.

BRISTOL, Pa.

Car Crash: Bristol Borough Police responded to a onevehicle crash on Route 13 involving a driving school vehicle. A 2015 Kia operated by driving student Marie Zorbah, 51, of Croydon, Pa., left the roadway and struck a tree off Route 13 just south of Bath Road. The driving instructor, Alaicia Lawson, 35, of Philadelph­ia, received moderate injuries. She was transporte­d to Lower Bucks Hospital by Bucks County EMS. The accident occurred about 10:35 a.m. Friday. The investigat­ion is being conducted by Officer James Harris.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, Pa.

Auto Theft: Township police were dispatched to a Northrup Court residence at approximat­ely 2a.m. April 20for the report of a motor vehicle theft in progress. The complainan­t reported that his white Nissan Altima was just stolen. Patrol units saturated the area and surroundin­g areas and had Bucks County Police Radio notify the nearby zones. Upon arrival, an officer met with the complainan­t who explained that he was awake and heard his car start. When he looked out his window, the complainan­t saw his vehicle being driven away. The police investigat­ion was ongoing.

Car Tampering: While investigat­ing the aforementi­oned April 20motor vehicle theft on Northrup Court, Newtown Township Police observed a 2000Mazda Miata parked in the area with the driver’s door slightly ajar and the glove compartmen­t open. Police made contact with the vehicle owner who responded and verified that the vehicle had been unlocked, but that he had not left a door or the glove compartmen­t open. The owner did not notice anything missing, but the scene was processed as a part of the investigat­ion. Theft: Just before 9:30a.m. April 20, township cops were dispatched to a Nathan Court residence for the report of a theft from a motor vehicle. The victim reported that his vehicle was unlocked and parked in his driveway and that several items had been stolen during the night. Upon arrival, police met with the victim and processed the scene. The total value of loss was approximat­ely $215. Another Theft: Around 12 p.m. April 20, another Nathan Court resident reported a theft from their unlocked motor vehicle. The total value of loss was over $65.
