Yaede Retaliation
Henderson is convinced this is the latest maneuver by Yaede and her administration to pay him back for voicing criticism that has gotten under Yaede’s skin.
The Trentonian obtained an email Yaede sent from a personal email in February to Richford, the head of the Mercer County Republican Committee.
Richford confirmed receiving the email, which copied others on it.
Yaede didn’t directly mention Henderson but complained to Richford in the email about being targeted by committee members.
“I have made several attempts to reach you, yet again, to discuss the unprofessional, divisive and unprecedented behavior by some of your MCRC appointees,” Yaede wrote Feb. 28. “As early as August 2017, there have been numerous personal attacks directed at loyal Republicans with proven successes including Hamilton Campaign
Manager Mike Sabo (copied below), Hamilton Administrative Team and most aggregious [sic] attacks on myself.”
Yaede mentioned attachments in the email but those weren’t provided to The Trentonian which asked Yaede for them. She didn’t provide them or say what was contained in them but told the newspapaer to “be the judge” if it obtained them.
Yaede called the attacks “deplorable” and accused Richford of knowing about them and not stopping them.
“In the current National environment affecting women, I find it sickening that a sitting female Mayor would be subject to this type of treatment by some of your MCRC appointees,” Yaede wrote.
Henderson believed the email was about him.
Richford called Henderson “professional, reliable, hard-working” and dispelled notions he’s “anti-woman.” She called Yaede’s email “unprofessional and inflammatory” and said her accusations were baseless.
“This is how the old Mercer County GOP ran,” the chairwoman said. “I don’t operate that way. I’m not gonna allow her to pull me into the drama.”
