Nottingham takes thriller against Ewing

EWING » The Nottingham High softball team won a thriller Tuesday when it topped Ewing, 5-4, in eight innings.

Ewing (8-6) rallied with three in the bottom of the seventh behind a two-run homer by pitcher Lauren Christense­n, but Nottingham (9-4) got a game-winning single from Stella Spatola in the eight. Jayden Glazewski doubled and homered for the winners. Heather Clevenger picked up the win in relief.

She also threw out a runner at home from right field to end the game. For Allentown, Alyssa Notarianni hit a three-run homer and Lauren Coiante was 3-for-5. Jackie Masone and Morgan Fleischer had two hits for the Rams.
