Maria Bonfanti of Allentown

Maria Bonfanti nee Ferrara, 80, of Allentown, NJ entered into eternal rest on Tuesday,

May 1, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Williamstown, NJ surrounded by her loving family. Born in Villalba, Sicily, Maria immigrated to the United States in 1970 and had resided in the Trenton area for most of her life. She was the consummate home maker, who loved to cook, and take care of her family. She enjoyed playing the lottery. Maria was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Daughter of the late Giuseppe and Maria (Catalano) Ferrara; beloved wife of the late Giuseppe Bonfanti; sister of the late Isabella Mendola; Maria leaves behind to mourn her loss her five children: Calogero Bonfanti, Salvatore Bonfanti and wife Marisa, Giuseppe Bonfanti and wife Carla, Crocetta and husband Don Saia, and Antonella and husband Rick Franzen; eleven grandchildren: Joey Bonfanti, Bryana and husband Nick DeMonte, Giana and Matteo Bonfanti, Maria, Giavanna, and Isabella Saia, R.J., Nicholas, Luca, and Gabriella Franzen; a sister, Giavanna and husband Calogero Lumia; a sister-inlaw, Andonietta Bonfanti; a brother-in-law, Luigi Bonfanti and wife Lucia; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. James R.C. Church, 29 E. Paul Ave., Trenton, NJ. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, 1200 Cedar Ln., Hamilton, NJ.
