NBC takes care of Bordentown, makes title game

COLUMBUS » The Northern Burlington softball team took care of business on two fronts Friday night.

By crushing Bordentown, 9-0, NBC advanced to the championship game of the Burlington County Scholastic League Tournament against Rancocas Valley. That game will be played Thursday night at Bordentown. With the victory over Bordentown (11-7), Northern Burlington (15-2) also remained tied for first with Rancocas Valley in the BCSL Liberty Division standings.

Sophomore flamethrower Haylei Archer was in fine form with 14 strikeouts against the Scotties. She also had three hits. Chipping in with two hits apiece were Hannah Alexander Megan Berg and Madison Sisz.

EWING 4, HAMILTON 3 EWING » The Blue Devils won under the lights on senior night. Lauren Christenson got the win over Cassidy Palyock by striking out seven. Devon Kueny doubled and Morgan Tiziger tripled for Ewing, which dedicated the game to Matt Kueny. The team’s scorekeeper, public address announcer and father of Devon, Matt Kueny suffered a serious fall on a ladder prior to the game while adjusting a speaker at the field.

WW-PN 20, PRINCETON 0 PRINCETON » The Knights are now 10-3 after McKenna Carpenter tripled, blasted a grand slam and knocked in six runs. Julia Baber doubled and homered.
