Anthony Carl “Tony” Lomon age

63 passed away in Philadelph­ia, PA on

May 4, 2018. Born in Trenton, NJ, he was a lifelong resident of Trenton and Willingbor­o NJ Communitie­s. He was a graduate of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) with an Associates Degree in Applied Science ‘96, Security Police Academy, Lackland Air Force Base, Certified ‘85, Shaw University, Raleigh, North Carolina’74. He was employed by the N.J Department of Correction­s (25 years), a Patrol officer at Princeton University and Mercer County College, an Aftercare Case Manager with Covenant Community Developmen­t Corporatio­n SEAD Program, Trenton NJ, a Security Officer with Universal Security at New Jersey Department of Child Protection and Permanency (DCPP) and a Substitute Teacher for Burlington and Mercer County Schools. He was a member of the United States Air National Guard (23 years).

He was a faithful member of Bethany Baptist Church, Lindenwold NJ, Founder of Plugged into Ministry Inc., Referee with NJ USA Boxing, Southern Division, TCHS Class of 72 Reunion Committee member, Poet, Play write and Author: Published works are a book “From the Spirit Within” and Original Gospel Stage Play “Me, Myself & You”, Rancocas Golf Club Member, and Billiard Club Member.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, William M. “Buck” and Mildred Pickett-Lomon; one brother, William Stanley “Tank” Lomon; three aunts, Louise Jackson, Mattie Murkison and Ruby Levert; two uncles, Jerry Pickett and Austin Pickett.

Tony was a loving father, a devoted brother and a caring friend. His memory will be cherished and forever remembered by his son, Kinamo Lomon (Elisa) of Cherry Hill, NJ; two daughters, Jamila Lomon-Jackson of Philadelph­ia, PA and Safiya Lomon-Borgella (Ludwig) of Long Island, NY; a sister, Beverly Pickett Peacos (Joseph Jr.) of Greenville, NC; a brother, Melvin D. Pickett (Diane Vincent) of Trenton, NJ; three granddaugh­ters, Lauryn Lomon, Leah Lomon and Giovanna “GiGi” Jackson; two aunts, Willie Belle Riley of Claremont, CA, Margaret Addie of Birmingham, AL; one uncle, Kirtist Pickett of Trenton, NJ; special companion, Roxanne McElroy of Trenton, NJ and a host of extended relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 11am Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at New Salem Baptist Church, 316 Union Street, Trenton, NJ. Calling hours will be 9am until time of service at the church. Interment Ewing Cemetery. Arrangemen­ts are by the Hughes Funeral Home.
