Ducks deal Thunder fourth straight loss

AKRON, OHIO » Sicnarf Loopstok hit a sacrifice fly and drove in Jorma Rodriguez with the winning run in the 11th inning, as the Akron RubberDuck­s beat the Thunder, 2-1, to take the first three games of a fourgame set on Wednesday morning.

Rodriguez scored the game-winning run after he started the inning on second and advanced to third on a single by Ka’ai Tom.

After Trenton’s Trey Amburgey hit an RBI single in the top of the 10th, Akron tied the game 1-1 in the bottom of the inning when Sam Haggerty hit an RBI double, driving in Connor Marabell.

Akron starter Jake Paulson went seven scoreless innings, allowing three hits while striking out six. Nick Pasquale (2-1) got the win in relief while Kaleb Ort (1-1) took the loss.
