HUNTER, ROBBINSVIL­LE BLANK RARITAN

ROBBINSVIL­LE » A year ago, Robbinsvil­le pitcher Kate Hunter threw six straight shutouts as the Ravens captured their third state title in seven years.

Fast forward to Wednesday when Hunter picked up right where she left off by blanking Raritan, 2-0, in a Central Jersey Group II game that took just 80 minutes. With the victory, Robbinsvil­le (21-1) advanced into a semifinal home game Friday against Matawan.

Hunter fired a three-hitter and struck out five. Chelsea Manto led the offense with a 3-for-3 with a double. Manto and Olivia Moser drove in the runs. Allie Taylor had two hits.

Before playing in the states Friday, Robbinsvil­le takes on Steinert Thursday afternoon in the Mercer County Tournament championsh­ip game in Ewing.

Sophomore Bailey Enoch did her thing with a three-hitter and six strikeouts. Gracyn Banks led the Township offense with a home run. Heather Clevenger threw well in defeat with a seven-hitter ad nine strikeouts.
