Domingo Acevedo returned to the mound for the first time in over a month for the Thunder.

Rated the No. 9 prospect in the Yankees’ system by MLB Pipeline, Acevedo has been sidelined by a blister on his right index finger since April 12.

The 24-year-old righthander hasn’t pitched since allowing one run over five innings against New Hampshire on April 11, but he was activated prior to Monday afternoon’s series finale at Erie and tossed three scoreless innings of relief in a 6-5 victory.

Acevedo threw 26 of his 38 pitches for strikes and faced the minimum of nine batters with three punch outs.

Acevedo piggy-backed off of left-hander Ryan Bollinger, who worked the first five innings following a one-game sting with the Yankees.

In need of an insurance arm for a game in Texas, the Yankees elected the 27-yearold’s contract and added him to the major league roster. He did not appear in the game.

Bollinger allowed two runs on six hits, struck out five and walked three.

Zack Zehner hit a grand slam to spark a five-run seventh inning to the Thunder (31-19) and sweep the four-game set over the SeaWolves (18-31).

Chris Gittens added a solo shot in the eight to give the Thunder a 6-2 lead and they survived a rocky ninth in which uErie plated all three of its runs on a homer by A.J. Simcox.

The Thunder return to Arm & Hammer Park on Tuesday to begin a threegame set against Reading.
