Thelma Alice Hoagland Parks of Hamilton

Thelma Alice Hoagland Parks, age 93, of Hamilton, New Jersey was called to glory on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Hamilton Township, NJ. She was born in Hopewell, NJ and educated in Hopewell-Pennington school district. Thelma was a faithful member of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Pennington, NJ having served on the finance committee, sang in the choir and was the Mother of the Church. Thelma was also a proud former member of Aaron Chapter No.8 Order of Eastern Star P.H.A. of Princeton, NJ and Khufu Court No. 118 Daughters of Isis of Princeton, NJ. Thelma enjoyed being active in the church, spending time with her family and grandchildren, crocheting, cooking and baking.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents Paige Hoagland Sr. and Anna Mae Nevius Hoagland; her four sisters and four brothers and two grandsons.

Thelma’s memory will be cherished and forever remembered by her children Keith Sears (Christine), Jeff Sears (Linda), Francis Sears, Vicki Anderson (Dan) and Judy Parks. Thelma also leaves nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren, two sisters Doris McAchen and Geraldine Hoagland, along with a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends that loved her. Thelma will also truly be missed by her church family.

Funeral service will be Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 11am at Mount Zion A.M.E. Church, 42 Pennington Ave, Trenton, NJ. Calling hours will be 9am until time of service at the church. Interment Stoutsburg Cemetery in Hopewell, New Jersey. Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home.
