John J. McNamara Jr., 73, died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday May 28, 2018 at the Complex Care Hospital at Ridgelake in Sarasota, FL.

He was born on October 30, 1944 in Trenton, NJ. He was a graduate of Trenton Central High School in 1962. He retired in 2007 after working for a combined 35 years as a Plumber/ Pipefitter for General Motors in Ewing, NJ and Fitzgerald, GA.

He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and betting on horse races.

He is survived by his wife Loretta, to whom he was married for 50 years, his son, Michael McNamara and fiancée Paula Marchand of Youngstown, OH, his daughter Sherry Morency and husband Tony of Hamilton, NJ, and his son John McNamara III and wife Christine of Burlington, NJ, seven grandchild­ren; Jennifer, Kristina, Anthony, Vincent, Ryan, Dominic (Tony), and Alison, and his great grandchild Christian. He is also survived by siblings; Dorothy, Patrick, Colleen, Maria, Kathleen, Sharon, and predecease­d by his brother Thomas. He also has several nieces, nephews, and cousins. At the family’s request, there was a private family service held in Florida where he and his wife resided.
