Woman Admits To Fatal DUI: Jaclyn Jones, 30, admitted driving high and killing a 21-year-old man and seriously injuring his girlfriend following a head-on collision last August. The crash happened on Route 611 near Bedminster Township as Jones motored along the highway under the haze of a cocktail of drugs, authorities said. The crashed claimed the life of Christopher Marinelli, who was behind the wheel of a Saturn sedan that was demolished by Jones after she crossed the double yellow line in her Jeep Patriot around 9p.m. His girlfriend, Gabrialle Otero, suffered neck fractures and a traumatic brain injury and was flown out for treatment. Jones, who suffered lesser injuries, was taken to a hospital in Bethlehem, where she consented to a blood draw. Testing revealed Jones’ blood contained amphetamine, clonazepam, oxycodone, topiramate, and fentanyl in concentrations sufficient to have rendered her impaired, authorities said. Her parents said she took some of the prescription drugs to treat Lyme Disease. Witnesses claimed they saw the Jeep swerve across the center line 10to 12times before the crash. Investigators said Jones didn’t try to swerve or to avoid the collision. Jones’ license was suspended at the time of the crash over two DUI convictions, one drug-related. She had an Occupational Limited License (OLL) that allowed her to drive to and from work and school between 8a.m. and 8p.m., but investigators determined she violated those terms by traveling to shop at the Willow Grove Park Mall and stopping at a Wawa. Jones admitted to charges of homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault by vehicle and DUI. She contested two charges of accidents involving death or injury while not properly licensed and has requested a bench trial. Sentencing is set for Sept. 18 on the charges Jones admitted.
