BAYVILLE » Trenton Catholic Academy sophomore Wisdom Maddox was bouncing up and down as she completed a Non-Public B double in a matter of a few minutes.

Maddox captured group tittles in the girls triple jump and 110 meter hurdles to secure an automatic berth to the Meet of Champions.

Maddox, a sophomore, leapt 34-4.50 to claim the triple jump and then turned around and ran 15.02 for an easy victory in the hurdles.

“It feels great,” Maddox said. “II want to thank my coach because he pushed me the whole way.”

Maddox was impressive in the hurdles, winning by over a second.

“I just had to go, no turning back or anything,” Maddox said. “Technique was key. I had to get my trail leg down fast. I focus on speed and staying in my lane.”

It’s been a great weekend for the Iron Mikes.

Mohamed Diagouraga added a boys 100 meter hurdles title to the triple jump crown he won on Friday.

Diagouraga and teammate Masfort Boima went 1-2 in the hurdles, finishing with times of 14.80 and 15.45, respectively.

Senior Jada Queen also added a high jump first (5-02.00) to her javelin win on Friday.

“It feels great to hear everybody’s name called,” Maddox said. “It’s going to be great next year.”

Maddox is excited for the ToC. “This year is really different for me because last year I was just starting track,” Maddox said. “This year I’m really focused on it.”
