Mother Edwina M. Deloney, age 72 gained her heavenly wings on May 25, 2018 at home. Born on December 31, 1945 in the City of Trenton to the late Charlotte B. SmithPolla­rd and John Henry Pollard. She was a lifelong city resident attending Trenton Public School system, graduating from Trenton Central High School and MCCC with an AA in Business.

Mother Deloney was employed by Switlik Parachute Co., American Biltrite, Short order cook at Freeway Steakhouse & Wallace Diner, retiring from North Princeton Developmen­tal Center (NJNPI/NPDC [Skillman]) after 27 years of dedicated service. She was the proud owner and baker of Homemade Sweets by Deloney’s Kitchen, Hamilton Twp., NJ. She is the recipient of numerous accommodat­ions, awards, and certificat­es of recognitio­n, to include: The Trenton Board of Education, The State of NEW JERSEY Legislatio­n, and most notably The White House.

In 1957, Mother accepted the Lord as her personal Savior, and joined St. James Church of God in Christ (presently known as Mason Memorial Church of God in Christ) Trenton, NJ.

Even as her health began to fail, Mother still believed in the Power of PRAYER and her unwavering faith and belief in God amazed family, friends and doctors who have crossed her path. Mother’s faith was her battle with cancer, the passing of her sibling Ralph and daughter Andrea.

Mother’s legacy has been bestowed to and will forever be cherished by her daughter Lonzetta M. DeloneyRus­h; “son in-love” James D. Rush, Sr.; her grandson James D. Rush, II “JD” all of West Windsor, NJ; her granddaugh­ter Amber E. DeloneySte­wart of West Trenton, NJ. Former spouse and friend Curtis Deloney, Jr. of Sulphur Springs, Tx.; 4 nephews; 15 nieces; 3 brother in-laws and 9 sister in-laws; a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, friends and adopted children. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her, including the Mason Memorial COGIC church family and the Household of Faith.

A Victorious Celebratio­n honoring her legacy will be 11am,Monday, June 4, 2018 at the Church of God in Christ Headquarte­rs (NJ 1st Ecclesiast­ical Jurisdicti­on) 733 Pennington Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 9am until time of service at the church. Interment Ewing Cemetery. Arrangemen­ts are by the Hughes Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons can be made to American Cancer Society or the American Heart Society.
