TRENTON
2 Wounded in Shooting: Two men were shot early Saturday on Marion Street in the city’s West Ward. Police were dispatched to a shooting in progress about 12:55 a.m. and located two males who had been struck by gunfire. One of the victims suffered a gunshot wound to his left shoulder and the other suffered a gunshot graze wound to his upper back. Both victims are 27-year-old city residents, and both were rushed to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment. The graze wound victim was released after receiving treatment but the other victim was admitted overnight for observation, although his injuries were not believed to be lifethreatening. Both of the victims were hanging out on a porch when an unknown person began firing shots in their direction, according to a statement one of the victims gave to police. Police as of Saturday afternoon have announced no arrests in the case and provided no suspect descriptions. The incident remains under investigation by the Mercer County Shooting Response Team. 3 Wounded in Stabbing: Two women and a man each suffered stab wounds during a North Ward street fight early Saturday. The altercation occurred about 1:30 a.m. Saturday on the 500 block of North Clinton Avenue near La Guira Bar. A 22-year-old man got Police investigate a crime scene in Trenton stabbed in his upper right shoulder, a 28-year-old woman suffered a cut to her upper left arm, and a 33-year-old woman suffered minor cuts to her hand. Both of the female victims had ordered food from the bar and were waiting outside when the street fight occurred. The male victim was not a patron of the bar but just happened to be in the area at the time of the fight and got stabbed during the violent altercation that occurred out in the street. All three victims were rushed to the hospital in stable condition to treat their non-life-threatening stab wounds. The victims were not able to identify the perpetrator who had stabbed them. The incident remains under investigation by Trenton Police Detective Gregory Hollo.
3 Wounded in Crash: Three people were injured, one critically, when a tractor-trailer crashed and overturned Friday afternoon on Route 29 in the capital city. A victim was operating a tractor-trailer on the southbound lanes of Route 29 when he lost control and struck a median, causing the truck to overturn just south of the highway’s tunnel near the Arm & Hammer ballpark about 12:50 p.m. Friday. There were three male occupants riding inside the tractor-trailer, including the driver, and all three of them were ejected from the vehicle. All three crash victims were rushed to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment. Two were listed in serious condition, and one was listed in critical condition for injuries that had the potential of being life-threatening. The one-vehicle crash forced New Jersey State Police to shut down the southbound lanes of Route 29 for about four hours. One of the northbound lanes was also shut down for about four hours as a result of the crash. State Police said no charges have been filed in the case as of Saturday afternoon. Authorities did not immediately release the names, ages or town of residence for the three victims injured in the incident but confirmed each victim is a male. The crash remains under investigation.
HAMILTON
Three Teens Shot: A shooting on the 1700 block of East State Street left three teenagers wounded early Saturday. The incident occurred about 1:40 a.m. when the three victims were hanging out in front of a residence and heard gunshots. The victims were rushed to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton for treatment. Injured was a 19-year-old Hamilton man who suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, a 16-year-old Trenton girl who suffered gunshot wounds to the legs, and a 15-year-old Trenton girl who suffered a gunshot wound to the face. The victims did not see anybody, but a darkcolored sedan with a black male driver was seen by the victims in the area prior to the shooting. The shooting incident remains under investigation.
