Anne M. Smoliga of Hamilton

-

Anne M. Smoliga, 60, of Hamilton, joined many loved ones in Heaven after a valiant fight with cancer on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Born and raised in Denville, Anne graduated from Seton Hall in 1979. She was employed as a nurse with Morristown Memorial Hospital and for the VNA. She went on to work for the State of New Jersey and New Jersey Transit as a programmer. For the past 25 years she was employed with Munich Re Insurance, formerly American Re Insurance in the IT field. She was the greatest daughter, mother, wife, sister, and friend anyone could have ever asked for, and she will be deeply missed but most remembered for her kind heart. Anne enjoyed playing piano, trips to the beach, traveling and was an avid animal lover, who volunteered her time at the animal shelter. She was truly one of a kind; through her devotion, talent, work ethic, humor and incredibly loving attitude she positively touched nearly everyone she met. She had that rarified perception that saw only the best in anyone around her, expressing it through kind and uplifting words. She walked through life’s daily travails without rancor, dispensing patience and understanding in its stead. In each and every aspect of daily life, she was truly a person that gave so much more than she took. She had an upbeat personality that made everyone feel better about their own life. Even in her last month of life, during her difficult struggle with cancer, she never lost hope, and she never lost her wonderful sense of humor.

Predeceased by her father, Robert Whitney Dutton; she is survived by her devoted husband of 28 years, Michael R. Smoliga; her cherished son, Michael Smoliga; her loving mother, June (Wright) Dutton and her brother, Dr. James T. Dutton. Funeral services will begin on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. Cremation will be private. Visitation for friends and family will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Anne’s memory to EASEL Animal Rescue League by visiting In Memory Of at www.inmemoryof-memorial.org. www. saulfuneralhomes.com
