Capital Farmers Market one of the great things about summer in Trenton

That saying, “you got to be in it to win it,” applies to the City of Trenton, too.

And not only victory but to understand that this city offers an amazing amount of positives not depicted in many observations.

Another Thursday, another fantastic Capital Farmers Market just yards away from the city’s famous historic Mill Hill Park.

With so many people judging Trenton from myopic opinions from a variety of sources, reality surfaces by attendance. Ask any state or city worker, resident or visitor and they will tell you that this city produces an enticing list of popular events that originate in fantastic venues.

Mark my word, these events will gain better publicity when Mayor-elect Reed Gusciora takes office. A certain shame exists regarding incongruent observations offered by people with axes to grind about particular individuals and this city.

Except for serious quality of life issues, this city capital exists in a better condition than many are willing to admit. The Capital Farmers Market delivers a strong lunch crowd consisting of diverse people who have interesting thoughts about life here.

A young woman named, Mia, an employee for the Health Department, asked for contact information.

“I have some ideas that I would like run by you, things that may work in Trenton,” she said. Trenton needs ideas and more people seated at the table when projects and the future serve as topics.

By the way, Capital Farmers Market presented by the Trenton Downtown Association runs on Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. On June 28, the Levitt Amp Trenton Music Series begins a 10-week run at Mill Hill Park.

The Brevet, Southern California rockers, kicks off the summer music entertainment as city guests visit the park for the 5:30-8:30 p.m. series.

Living in or near Trenton for 40 years, currently housed in Chambersburg, offers a different perspective than outsiders. Should residents do better with voting? Yes. Keeping this city clean? Yes. Education initiatives? Of course. Should there be less crime? Yes. We’re working on it.

Don’t believe all the swipes. This serves as an open invitation for anyone to come spend time with me for a different perspective of Trenton.

By the way, one of the city’s most popular and safest events, occurs this week when Trenton hosts “Art All Night”, a 24-hour art party at the Roebling Wire Works.
