Pernell Starling of Hamilton

Pernell Starling of Hamilton, NJ, age 70, passed away June 6, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton, NJ.

Born in Trenton, NJ, she was a lifelong resident of Trenton and Hamilton Township. She was educated in the Trenton Public Schools. She was employed by US Steel, Mercer Street Friends, and retired from Mercer Geriatric Center, (formerly Donnelly Hospital), Trenton, NJ.

She was a loyal member of True Servant Church, former member of Cadwalader Asbury United Methodist Church, Trenton, NJ, and Tabernacle Baptist Church, Tabernacle, NJ. Pernell was the daughter of the late Henry and Annie Mae Lyons, wife of the late Rev. Leroy Starling, sister of the late Ruby L. Epps and Gloria L. Wallace, grandmother of the late Samuel Bishop Hardwick, and stepdaughter of the late Naomi Lyons. She is survived by her children, Anita Hardwick-Lane, Theresa Gonzales, Samuel T. Hardwick (Latasha), Mark Hardwick (Angela), Arnold Hardwick (Lisa), Ronald Hardwick, Brian Hardwick, seventeen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three sisters, Yvonne Johnson (Paul), Doris Lyons, Karen Harvey (Calvin), one brother, James Lyons (Christine), brother-in-law, Lenton Wallace, several devoted nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be 11am Monday, June 18, 2018 at True Servant Church, 2630 S. Broad St., Hamilton, NJ. Calling hours will be 9am until the time of service at the church. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton Township, NJ. Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home.
