TRENTON >> Two city residents were arrested early Monday morning after crashing into four cop cars during a reckless pursuit in a carjacked vehicle.

Jaquaia Emanuel, 23, is accused of leading police on a chase while driving a Toyota minivan that was previously reported stolen during a carjacking. Naquan Quattlebaum, 22, was a passenger in the car when police saw the van near the intersection of Poplar and Hurley streets.

Police initiated a motor vehicle stop a little after midnight, but Emanuel sped away after cops stepped out of the car. Officials say Emanuel then weaved between several occupied cars as she fled down Poplar and turned right onto North Clinton Avenue.

Assisting police units later saw the van near Olden and St. Joes avenues, according to officials who say Emanuel turned onto Houghton Avenue, crashed into a cop car and continued to flee.

Officials say Emanuel later crashed into two additional cop cars and an unoccupied civilian vehicle in the area of Poplar and North Clinton, then continued driving recklessly throughout North Trenton.

The chase finally ended when Emanuel crashed head-on with another police car in the area of Olive and Stockton streets.

After the crash, Emanuel was taken to the hospital by officers before being charged with several counts of aggravated assault on law enforcement, receiving stolen property, eluding and numerous motor vehicle offenses.

Quattlebaum was charged with receiving stolen property.

No other injuries were reported.
