DISTRICT 2 HOPEWELL POSTPONED BORDENTOWN » A heavy afternoon rain storm forced officials to call off the winners’ bracket final between Cherry Hill Post 372 and Hopewell Post 339 after Point Pleasant Boro defeated Hillsborough, 6-1, in a game which officially lasted over five hours because of a three-hour, 10-minute rain delay.

Cherry Hill and Hopewell will play at either 2 or 5 p.m. Monday at Gilder Park. It had not been determined by press time whether Point Pleasant Boro will be returning Monday or Tuesday for the district’s second-place game.
