WW-P North’s Lu rebounds with impressive round
Katherine Lu incorporated several worthwhile clichés regarding playing golf.
The West WindsorPlainsboro North sophomore had just completed an impressive round of 76 Thursday at Princeton Country Club when she offered insights about a tough loss against The First Tee of Greater Philadelphia on Wednesday.
Lu seemed upbeat after being on the losing end for her First Tee of Greater Trenton squad at Llanerch CC on Wednesday. Each squad picked two players to compete in a sudden-death alternate shot showdown after the squads were tied after a full day’s slate of action.
Jacob McGill put Lu in position to win. Lu struck a birdie putt that raced past the hole, leaving her partner a tough par save from 10 feet. McGill just missed. The First Tee of Greater Trenton lost to par. Lu moved on.
“I think I got too nervous or I didn’t realize the putt was that much down hill. I kind of blasted it,” she confessed. “But you know, you try not to get too caught up. Just get up the next morning, forget about the past and move on. You have to focus on the present with golf.”
Scores from the Future Champions Tour event played Thursday at Princeton CC. Two-tournament points totals in parentheses.
