Zehner powers Thunder past Ponies
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. » Zack Zehner hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning, and Jeff Hendrix doubled and singled as the Thunder topped the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, 9-2, on Sunday.
The home run by Zehner scored Devyn Bolasky to give the Thunder a 4-2 lead.
The Thunder later added two runs in the seventh and three in the ninth to punctuate the blowout.
Ryan McBroom also homered for the Thunder (54-45), who moved within two games of New Hampshire in the EL East.
James Reeves (2-1) got the win with two innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Binghamton starter Mickey Jannis (6-5) took the loss in the Eastern League
