RACE AND POLITICS

If Trump used the n-word, it wouldn’t be shocking or change anything

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said Tuesday that she could not “guarantee” that there are no recordings of President Donald Trump using the N-word.

“I’ve never heard him use that term or anything similar,” Sanders said in response to a series of questions from NBC’s Kristen Welker about whether he’s ever used the racial slur.

Welker then asked Sanders if she could assure Americans Trump never used the word.

“I can’t guarantee anything, but I can tell you the president addressed this question directly,” she said, though she acknowledged that she had never asked him the question herself. Sanders added, “Look, I haven’t been in every single room.” Fair enough. Personally, if a recording exists with Trump using the Big N-asty his usage would not deliver any major shock. This is Donald Trump, not Dalai Lama XIV or Pope Francis.

Hot-breathed media members have made Trump and a potential tape of his N-word major news without considering the course. Again, it’s Donald Trump.

No shock would exist if Trump referenced former President Barack Obama as “that Nword in the White House.” Many people upset about this topic should reference their history and make certain they never voiced the N-word or allowed family members, friends and significant others racial insensitive leeway.

The United States grapples with racism, gender bias and a litany of other social ills because people rarely stand up against these offensive behaviors.

No doubt, many Trump supporters have no issue if their man stepped out on the racial live wire and voiced the N-word racial slur.

In fact, his use would likely radicalize white supremacists and mainstream supporters alike, those driven by slogans of “Make America Great Again” and “We Want Our Country Back.”

This latest Trump distraction moves minds away from real issues regarding systems in place to deny U.S. residents opportunities, citizenship, dignity and their right to live freely.
