TRIVIA - DISNEY MOVIES

-

1. Don’t be fooled by the G-Rating, this animated classic is based on a story that was once banned, because Carlo Collodi filled it with mischief, crudeness, deception and subversive commentary.

2. This story comes from a novel, but in 2010a researcher found that the model for the main character did exist, did have a particularly pronounced case of kyphosis and was quasi-deaf.

3. Given the characters’ tone and affect, it was fitting to get Canadian comics Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas to do voiceover work in this film, one that was Oscar nominated but lost to “Finding Nemo.”

4. The tagline for this film called it “The story of two friends who didn’t know they were supposed to be enemies.” Not just friends, they were actually in the same family, technically.

5. Big band leader Louis Prima voiced another concordant primate in this movie based on the work of a Victorian-Indian. Furthermore, it is the last film produced by Mr. Walt Disney.

6. Ed Wynn voiced a character in this feature that it would seem, based on his crazy disposition, suffered from mercury poisoning insanity.

7. At one point in this animated feature, the aerial title character endures a hazy but almost reflective episode when he sees the kind of delirious visions originally described by drinking man Jack London.
