Support jobs in our region
It is frustrating to hear opposition to natural gas projects in our region, especially given the growing demand for clean, affordable and domestic energy. Williams’ proposed Northeast Supply Enhancement is an important project that will deliver domestically sourced natural gas to millions of homes and businesses along the east coast - and its construction alone will support some 3,000 jobs for the local workforce, many going to union laborers like myself.
As Training Director of International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) local 825, I see every day the dedication our men and women demonstrate on the right-of-way and beyond to ensure pipeline infrastructure like Northeast Supply Enhancement is constructed on time and safely.
Our members are eager to get to work on this project.
My fellow New Yorkers deserve better access to affordable energy, our communities deserve an economic boost and our workforce deserve good- paying jobs. Northeast Supply Enhancement will provide all these needs, while also helping our state reach the Governor Cuomo’s aggressive carbon emission goals.
I only hope our leaders stand with the hard-working men and women of New York by supporting Northeast Supply Enhancement, Our livelihoods depend on it.
