TRENTON » A city man apparently reached a boiling point Saturday and decided to increase the warfare against alleged drug addicts who have been loitering outside his house.

Emmanuel Temeh, 24, was charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses after he admitted to using a paintball gun to shoot a woman he believed to be a drug addict outside his home.

“I guess he was fed up with the drug addicts on his porch,” Lt. Darren Zappley said. “But he went a little overboard. You could take an eye out with a paintball.”

Cops were sent to Temeh’s house in the 100 block of Hudson Street after the victim reported a man with a gun. The woman told police she was sitting on the porch when paintballs started raining down on her from above. The woman took cover behind vehicles, but managed to be struck in the chest, leg and back before the shooting stopped, according to police who say she was covered in red, black and blue paint when cops arrived to investigate.

Temeh had left the area by the time cops arrived, officials say, but he returned during the investigation. He allegedly told police he’s been having issues with drug addicts sitting on his porch injecting heroin. He said those same addicts have been urinating and defecating around the property, and that he has kids at the house who have witnessed the disgusting behavior.

He told police that he has poured water on the drug addicts several times, attempting to force them to leave the area, and also posted no trespassing signs, but the issue still persists.

When cops asked him what happened prior to their arrival, Temeh allegedly admitted he fired a paintball gun at the victim from a secondfloor window, trying to frighten her away.

The woman refused medical attention.
