Trenton

Aggressive Panhandling: Robert Barbour, 50, and Kayla Zitnick, 23, were arrested for panhandling in the area of Route 29over the weekend. Police say both of them were also wanted in connection with outstanding warrants.

Bleach Attack: Shamirrah Davis, 21, was arrested in connection with a fight that happened near the intersection of Jersey Street and Home Avenue on August 30. A female victim told police she was at a residence in that area when two women confronted her and started a fight. While the victim squared-off against them, officials say, one of the suspects threw a cup of bleach in her eyes. During the subsequent fist fight, one of the women stabbed the victim in the abdomen while the other suspect doused her with pepper spray. The victim received hospital treatment for her injuries and warrants were issued. Police apprehended Davis Friday. The second suspect remains on the run.

Gun and Heroin: Davon Powell, 24, Tyquan Mitchell, 27, Davias Taylor, 26, and a 15-year-old male were arrested after police allegedly found a loaded .380caliber semi-automatic handgun and 22decks of heroin during an investigation on Anderson Street. Officials say detectives from the Street Crimes Unit were patrolling the 2000block due to numerous complaints of open-air drug deals when they saw the juvenile standing next to a parked Chrysler 300 that was occupied by three people. The teen grabbed his waistband and jumped into the car when he saw cops, prompting further investigation. When police searched the vehicle, they found a few decks of heroin on the floorboard and the gun underneath the seat in reach of all four occupants. The teen had additional heroin in his pockets when cops searched him, according to police who say the gun was equipped with a laser sight. Police towed the car, and the juvenile was taken to a youth detention center in Middlesex.

Stabbing: Police are searching for a man who attacked his estranged wife with a knife after learning she was involved with another man. The victim told police she allowed her husband to stay in her Garfield Avenue home over the weekend after he lost his residence, but told him he could not stay long. She and her kids were in a bedroom Sunday night when the man entered the room and started arguing about the woman’s new relationship. When she told him to leave her house, officials say, he pulled a kitchen knife out of a bookbag and told her she “needed to die.” He then tried to stab the woman in the stomach, but she blocked it with her hand. The man then swung the knife, cutting the woman on the lip, left shoulder and elbow. The woman’s son then intervened and suffered a laceration to his hand. And that’s when the man dropped the knife and ran.
