Prison Time: A convicted felon who staged a $42,000 supermarket robbery, sold opioid pills and was caught with guns was sent to state prison for eight to 20 years. Jared Robert Aichele, 36, of Bristol, pleaded guilty to two counts of firearms possession by a prohibited person, theft by unlawful taking, conspiracy to commit theft by deception, and delivery of a controlled substance. The sentence was the result of a plea agreement. Prosecutors say he and a female employee of the ACME store on New Falls Road staged an early-morning robbery. The employee, Danielle Drum, told officers that a suspect in a motorcycle helmet pulled a gun on her, forced her into the store’s cash room, took a large amount of money and zip-tied her hands behind her back before fleeing. Store surveillance video showed that Drum had unlocked the cash room and two safe doors inside after arriving for work, leaving them all ajar, and then texting someone on her phone before Aichele arrived. The two then faked the robbery, with video capturing Drum placing $43,207 in Aichele’s backpack before he bound her hands and left. After police obtained phone records showing that Drum contacted Aichele immediately before his arrival and 30 minutes afterward, she admitted helping him plan and stage the heist. She told police she received $7,000 and 35 Percocet pills for her part in the crime. Drum. 35, of Levittown, has pleaded guilty to numerous theft-related felonies. She is scheduled for sentencing on Oct. 10.
