Volunteering for Josh Welle

-

I live in East Brunswick, NJ which is not in Congressional District 4, where Josh Welle is a candidate for Congress. However, I am a volunteer in his campaign to unseat Chris Smith. I am writing this letter to explain why I am doing everything possible to help him “flip the fourth”.

I have four grandchildren and want them to grow up in the same country as I did. A country where democrats and republicans worked together to improve society; a country which tolerated peaceful protest; a country which cared about and worked towards equal treatment for all. Unfortunately, this is not the country we are today.

Josh Welle’s life epitomizes sacrifice. He attended Annapolis and served 12 years in the military including Afghanistan. He has never taken the easy way out and is now challenging Chris Smith, a congressman since 1980. An uphill battle for sure, but that has never stopped Josh. He intends to go to DC and help change the culture there – working to bring people together to solve the complex problems facing our country. He understands that solutions can never be an edict handed down but must be something arrived at only after discussion and compromise.

I want my grandchildren to be able to watch the news and see people treating others with respect and civility, something that is missing today. Josh Welle is an example of what we once were and what we can be again. Leaders like him are the examples for our children and grandchildren. Lets send him to Washington.
