Stolen BMW: Caitlyn Hargraves, 19, Darren Picott, 25, and Shem Ellis, 26, were arrested this week after police found them occupying a stolen vehicle. Officials say cops were patrolling when they recognized the 2014 BMW’s license plate from an alert that was broadcast earlier in the day. During the subsequent motor vehicle stop, officials say, Ellis ran and briefly escaped capture. But police used a K-9 to track him to the Rush Crossing apartment complex, where cops found him hiding near a dumpster. All three are charged with receiving stolen property. Ellis was also charged with resisting arrest.

Stabbing: Juan Bucup, 36, was arrested after he allegedly stabbed a roommate in the arm during an argument regarding a stereo.

Gun Bust: John Soden, 52, was arrested after he allegedly threatened to shoot someone with a 9mm handgun police found in his waistband. Police say the altercation happened outside of Dee Dee’s Lounge and Liquor Store on Brunswick Avenue. Domestic Violence: David Neal, 34, was arrested for allegedly beating his girlfriend during a drunken argument. The victim told police he pushed her onto the floor causing her to hit her head, then kicked her in the face and body while on the ground. She was treated at the hospital.

Weed and Pills: Eddie Swinney, 23, was arrested for possession of 21 prescription pills and 18 grams of marijuana after they caught him drinking alcohol on a porch.

More Weed and Pills: Andre Mitchell, 42, and Phyllis Garvin, 25, were arrested after police allegedly interrupted a drug deal on Daymond Street. Police seized marijuana and $138 in cash from Mitchell. And they busted Garvin with 151 assorted prescription pills.

Fatal High: New charges were filed against a Somerset man in the death of a Rutgers student who stumbled into the street and was struck by a car. David Stewart, 36, of Somerset, is now criminally charged with strict liability vehicular homicide for being under the influence of marijuana when he struck and killed 19-year-old Cory Aufiero on September 28. Officials say Aufiero — a Rutgers student and resident of Colts Neck — lost footing and stumbled onto the street where he was struck by a Nissan Sentra being driven by Stewart. Aufiero was pronounced dead at the scene. In addition to being charged with driving with a suspended license while involved in a motor vehicle accident resulting in death, Stewart is charged with driving while under the influence of marijuana.
