Otis Jones of Ewing

Otis Jones, 86, of Ewing, NJ, departed this life on November 2, 2018 at home. Born and educated in Emporia, VA, Otis moved to Trenton as a young man. He was employed by Mayflower, as a driver, for many years before working for Travis Funeral Home. He retired from Campbell Funeral Chapel, Inc. in Trenton after twenty years of service. Otis was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Dora Lundy Jones; his wife Thomasina Jones; and three sisters, Edna Mae Crawford, Martha Ann Lewis, and Earline Davis. He is survived by his first wife, Mabel Jones, and their children: Catherine Vaughan (Eddie) of Mobile, Alabama, Otis Jones Jr (Dorothy) of Trenton, David Jones (Jacqueline) of Cambridge Heights, NY, Elsie Nelson (Timothy), Tony (Linda) and Shelton Jones (Deserie) of Brooklyn, NY. He is also survived by his children, Vernon and Earlean Green and Rebecca Matthews (Burnell) from his late companion, Rebecca Green; a granddaughter, Laureneshia Green, and great granddaughter, Penelope Jenkins whom he raised all of Trenton, NJ; his adopted children: Wendell Green (Rejeana) of Colorado Springs, CO, Lola Patterson of WA, Maxine Tanner, Michael Christie, Joyce, Dwight, Lorraine, and Elizabeth Green all of Trenton; a son-in-law, David Barr of Trenton; sister, Evelyn Moore of Richmond, VA; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 1 pm at Campbell Funeral Chapel, 1225 Calhoun Street, Trenton, NJ 08638. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 11 am to 1 pm at the chapel. Interment will be held in Ewing Cemetery. Arrangements are by Campbell Funeral Chapel.
