Samuel Mitchell Thomas, son of the late Benjamin and Mary Thomas was born January 17, 1946 in Biscoe, NC. He went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 21, 2018.

In 1967 Sam relocated to Trenton, NJ. He was employed by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department and transition­ed to the Trenton Police Department from whence he retired in 1994. Prior to his retirement Sam was ordained as a Deacon at Galilee Baptist Church located in Trenton, NJ.

He returned to North Carolina in 1997 to be near his cherished grandmothe­r, Alice, who passed later that year.

Sam was preceded in death by sisters Mary (Butch), Brenda, Cynthia and Arlene. He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife of 22 years, Jennifer Goss Thomas and stepson, Brian K. Goss of Greensboro, NC; children, Frances Aikens (Benjamin) of Wynnewood, PA, Samuel Thomas II of Asheboro, NC and Shelena Thomas of Trenton, NJ; 14 grandchild­ren; brothers Benjamin Thomas (Grace), Robert Baldwin and Steven Baldwin all of Biscoe, NC; special niece Renee Landis and family; mother-inlaw, Molly Goss, sistersin-law, Lida Goss and Patricia Goss; brother-inlaw, Bryon Goss all of Trenton, NJ.
