Trenton
Heroin and Crack: David Kleckley, 27, Bessie Harrell, 29, and Alterrick Harrell, 32, were recently arrested on Daymond Street. Officials say detectives from the Street Crimes Unit were patrolling that area, due to recent violence and open-air drug activity, when they saw a Dodge minivan idling on the side of the road. Bessie Harrell, was in the driver’s seat, according to officials who say police knew she didn’t have a valid driver’s license due to previous encounters with her. During the subsequent investigation, police found 117 decks of heroin stamped “Tango and Cash” in the glove compartment. Police also found 12 grams of crack cocaine and a digital scale in the vehicle’s center console. Kleckley, police say, had another 16 decks of heroin in his pocket. Officials say Kleckley and Bessie Harrell were the only two people in the car during the investigation, but Alterrick showed up during the arrests and told police they had “no right to search the car.” Officials say Alterrick yelled and cursed at cops, creating an unsafe scene, and refused to comply with police commands. During his arrest for obstruction of justice, police say, Alterrick swung his arms and elbowed a cop in the shoulder. Cops eventually subdued him with pepper spray. Alterrick Harrell is also charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest and improper behavior.
