Pearl Bronner, brothers James Saunders, James Parham and Walter Parham and granddaughter Adrienne Nelson.
Pete as he was affectionately called, was educated in the Trenton Public School System, graduating from Trenton Central High School in 1951.
Pete was a deacon and served faithfully at the Shiloh Baptist Church.
Pete enlisted in the United States Army and actively served in the Korean Conflict. He was awarded an Honorable Discharge in 1958. In 1959 Pete started his employment with the State of New Jersey Department of Corrections as a Corrections Officer retiring after 31 years holding the positions of Senior Corrections Officer, Housing Officer and Transportation Officer. Pete retired in 1990 as a Disciplinary Assistant. During his employment with Corrections he also served as President of the Prison Officers Pension Fund.
Pete leaves to cherish his memories, his loving devoted wife Georgia W. Parham, his daughter Gaye Taylor, sons Alvin Nelson (Nichelle), Glenn and Gary Parham. Grandchildren Major Jennifer Blackwell, Jonathan Blackwell (Aurora), Ashley Parham, Brandice, Alvin,III and Charis Nelson. Great grandfather to Bronx, Miles and Lorenzo Blackwell, Nalani Parham and James Jr. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family who will truly miss him.
An evening of reflections will be held on Tuesday evening December 18, 2018 from 6pm8pm at Shiloh Baptist Church 340 Rev. S. Howard Woodson Way, Trenton, NJ. Funeral service will be 10am Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the Shiloh Baptist Church. Calling hours will be 8am until time of service at the church. Interment at Brigadier General Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown (Arneytown), NJ. Arrangements under the direction of Hughes Funeral Home.
