Trenton

Shots Fired: Jamir Johnson, 22, was arrested and charged after cops responded to a shots fired call. The victim told officers he was walking with two friends toward Beatty street when a black man put out his hand like he was going to shake it. The victim didn’t see him and kept walking. He heard the suspect call out to a friend. Another man began yelling at them. One of the suspects pulled out a 9 mm and fired six shots in the victim’s direction. He and others hid behind cars and called police after the shooting subsided. This happened Jan. 8, in the area of South Clinton and Whittaker avenues. The second suspect is still on the loose. It’s unclear if Johnson is the accused shooter. Squatters Busted: Unique Stanley, 22, was arrested for busting up a house on the 200 block of Franklin Street last year. Stanley was one of two people arrested. Police say he was a “squatter” at the home. Stanley and a second suspect, Nyisia Melton, 48, were evicted but went back to the home and broke in and trashed the place. Warrants were issued for their arrests. Melton was arrested back in July while Stanley remained on the lam, until this week.

Gun In the Waist: Emmanuel Thomas, 18, was arrested by the street crime unit off Hoffman Avenue. Detectives saw Thomas adjusting his waistband and suspected he had a gun in his waistband. When the cops approached him, he fled on foot. He was apprehende­d after a short foot chase.

Cops discovered Thomas in possession of a .22-caliber revolver. What A Dope: David Cloyd, 28, was nabbed by detectives from the street crimes unit which was conducting a narcotics investigat­ion on the first block of Marion Street. Cloyd was found in possession of two bricks of heroin. Cops got permission to search a home on the block and found drugs, cash, and scales inside Cloyd’s room. Cops seized 786 decks of heroin, $2,430 in cash and three grams of marijuana. Police also impounded a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Are We Square?: Clifton Square, 57, was arrested by cops patrolling the Roebling Market. They saw a blue Jeep that was reported stolen out of Trenton enter into the complex. Police pulled over Square, who was arrested without incident. He was charged with receiving stolen property. Domestic Violence: Michael Hodges, 27, was arrested and charged with domestic violence. Cops said a couple was arguing over money. The victim went to Hodges’ wallet. He choked and pushed her against the wall and pulled her hair. Hodges ran when cops arrived. He was apprehende­d near Calhoun Street. The victim, who had red marks on her body, refused medical attention.

Walk It Out: Tykwae Whitaker, 20, was arrested by the street crimes unit. Detectives’ attention was drawn to five men walking together. One of the men was walking with his right hand tucked near his waistband. The man, identified as Whitaker, walked to the side of a red truck, ducked down and removed something from his waistband and put it near the truck tire. Then he jogged back to the group of men. Detectives searched the area and found a black handgun, a Smith & Wesson .380 that was reported stolen out of Trenton, near the tire. Whitaker also had crack cocaine on him when he was searched. He was hit with gun, drug and hindering charges. More Domestic Violence: Antonio Johnson, 43, was arrested on the 100 block of Hancock Street on a domestic violence call. The victim told cops she got into an argument with her father. She threw her dad’s food around in the living room. Johnson put a knife to her neck. She tried to grab the knife and got cut on the hand. She refused medical attention. Johnson was hooked and booked, charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses.
