Zay’Quan Terrell Wheeler, 14, of Trenton departed this life on February 4, 2019 at Children’s Hospital of Philadelph­ia.

Born in Trenton, Zay’Quan attended Mercer Street Friends for PreK and more recently was an 8th Grade Student at Joyce Kilmer Middle School. He was an All-Star Athlete with the West End Little League, Babe Ruth Baseball League and Joyce Kilmer’s Basketball and Track & Field Teams.

Zay’Quan is survived by his father, John M. Wheeler; mother, Ebonika Funchess; maternal grandmothe­r, Carol Funches; paternal grandmothe­r, Sandra Scott; paternal great grandmothe­r, Johnnie Mae Scott; brother, Beyshane Wheeler; three sisters, LaTerra Wheeler, Aliyia Dodson and Kadajah Bennet; seven aunts, Keneisha and Kenya Funches, Rajonta Hodges, Larquista Stephens, Lovely and Rashauna James and Fuquana Boyer; five uncles, Jamal and Jamar Funches, Kenya and Kenyatta Webb and Mario Harden; one niece, Malaysia Wilson; six special cousins, Ja’mya Walton, Malik Powell, William Owens, Jr and Talaia Owens, Kaiya White and Ceoni Felton and best friend Haniyah McNeil.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, 340 Rev. S. Howard Woodson Jr. Way Trenton, NJ.

Interment will be in Ewing Cemetery.

Calling hours will be on Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a,m, at the church.
