Trenton

Knifepoint Rape: Tyshawn Covington, 42, was arrested after a woman flagged down cops and provided them with a descriptio­n of her attacker. Cops learned that Covington, who had warrants out for his arrest, allegedly attempted to steal the 20-year-old woman’s purse in the 1700 block of Calhoun Street. She fended him off and continued walking, stopping to gather herself near North Willow. While she sat down crying, Covington approached her a second time, this time cupping her mouth, and dragging her into abandoned housing complex on Rossell Avenue. Covington beat and raped the woman at knifepoint, in the basement of the housing complex. After the brutal attack, Covington apparently felt remorseful for the sexual assault and apologized to the victim. The woman convinced Covington to walk her to a friend’s house, so she could take a shower. When they got to the house, the woman immediatel­y told the resident to call the police because she had been raped. Detectives found some of the victim’s belonging on the 100 block of Rossell Avenue. She underwent a sex assault exam at the hospital.

Found with Dope: Jharel Carroll, 24, was arrested street crime detectives on the first block of Elm Street. Carroll was pulled over and found with heroin and Oxycodone. He was trying to hide the drugs from the detectives. In all, cops recovered 181 decks of heroin, two pills and six grams of pot.

Pills: Anthony Horton, 36, was arrested by street crime detectives on the 100 block of Chambers Street. Horton was holding a plastic bag in his hand. Detectives believed there were drugs in the bag and discovered Horton with ecstasy. Cops recovered 14 pills. Horton also had 22 warrants for his arrest.

Pot and Cash: Andre Michael Flowers, 28, was arrested by street crime detectives following a car stop on the 400 block of North Montgomery Street. Flowers was found with 40 grams of marijuana, a digital scale and $1,223 in cash, seized as suspected drug proceeds. Domestic Violence: Shawn Pressley, 40, was arrested in connection with a child endangerme­nt case from last year. He is accused of assaulting a woman July 21, 2018, in the 400 block of Monmouth Street. The victim told police that Pressley during an argument. Pressley then slapped a 9-year-old in the face when she tried to intervene.

Drug Pop: Willie Wilcox, 64, was arrested by street crime detectives who saw Wilcox involved in a drug deal on the 200 block of Walnut Avenue. He was found with 30 grams of cocaine and $450 in cash, seized as suspected drug proceeds.

Interrupte­d Drug Deal: Sylvester Meyers, 57, was arrested by street crime detectives who interrupte­d a drug deal near Merchant and Stockton streets. Myers had 35 decks of heroin and was hit with a drug offense. Threats and Drugs: Shawn Moore, 41, was arrested by street crime detectives near Pearl and Hudson streets. Detectives saw Moore and Stephen Gress, 41, involved in a drug deal. Both men were startled when they noticed the detectives who stopped to investigat­e. Gress was found with smashed-up crack cocaine in his palm, along with suspected heroin, a glass pipe and a small container of crack cocaine. Moore cursed and yelled at the detectives causing people to come out of their homes. He was warned to stop but then threatened the detectives. Gress told detectives he was going to shoot them when he got out of the joint. Moore was charged with making terroristi­c threats.

Two Guns and Drugs: Tyrone Watson, 22, was arrested by detectives from the violent crime interdicti­on task force near Boudinot and North Hermitage avenues. Watson was among a group of people hanging on a porch in the first block of North Hermitage Avenue. When he saw the cops, Watson ditched a handgun on the ground and ran away. He was found with a second handgun and drugs after a foot chase. Both of the handguns were loaded, one of which had an extended clip. Cops recovered 13 grams of cocaine, 205 decks of heroin and $500 in cash.

Shooting Arrest: Julius Troupe, 18, was arrested by street crime detectives on the 200 block of Spring Street. Troupe had a warrant out for his arrest in connection with a July 9 shooting. He is accused of shooting at a vehicle that was motoring down the 200 block of Spring Street. The occupant of the car were uninjured. Troupe was found with a gram of marijuana when he was taken into custody.
