LAWRENCE >> The Lawrence High girls soccer team has given itself a chance to challenge for the CVC Valley Division.

Lauren Edgar’s sixth goal of the season in the first half was enough for the Cardinals to beat Hightstown, 1-0, on Tuesday afternoon and move within two points of Hopewell Valley in the division race.

Lawrence (5-3) hosts idle Hopewell (7-2) on Thursday.

Mackenzie Esposito assisted on Edgar’s goal. The Rams fell to 2-5-1.
