League fines OBJ for fighting

-

Browns star Odell Beckham Jr. was fined an undisclosed amount by the NFL for fighting Baltimore’s Marlon Humphrey. The wide receiver said the penalty would have been harsher if he had retaliated.

Beckham wouldn’t disclose how much he was fined Friday after joking it was $250,000.

The three-time Pro Bowler tangled with Humphrey several times Sunday and the two got locked in a heated brawl in the third quarter when the Ravens cornerback appeared to choke Beckham while he was on the ground.

Beckham said he had chances to strike back at Humphrey, but “I kind of just let the moment pass and I sort of regret letting the moment pass but I’ve come a long way.”

Beckham was aware the Ravens posted a video earlier this week claiming Humphrey’s innocence, but said he has moved on.

“It’s done,” he said. “We play them twice. We’ll see them again.”

JAGS’ RAMSEY STILL OUT >> The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without cornerback Jalen Ramsey for a second straight week, and now they want their disgruntled star to see a back specialist.

Coach Doug Marrone ruled Ramsey out Friday, saying he has been “working extremely hard to get back with this lowback issue and it hasn’t been getting any better.”

NO CAM FOR CAROLINA >> Panthers quarterback Cam Newton will miss his third consecutive with a foot injury when Carolina plays Jacksonville.

Newton is listed as out on the injury report for Sunday’s contest, along with cornerback Donte Jackson (groin), left tackle Greg Little (concussion), guard Trai Turner (ankle) and tight end Chris Manhertz (concussion). Kyle Allen, who is 2-0 as Carolina’s starting fill-in quarterback, will continue to start in Newton’s place.

It’s still uncertain when Newton will return.

BILLS QB QUESTIONABLE >> Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was a full participant at Friday’s practice and is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans as he recovers from a concussion.

The second-year starter has had mixed results to open the season, leading Buffalo to a 3-1 record while throwing for 903 yards, three touchdowns and six interceptions. He also has three rushing touchdowns.

Allen was injured on a helmetto-helmet hit from New England cornerback Jonathan Jones.
