JoAnn Hillman, of Hamilton Square, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2019, surrounded by loved ones, in her home.

Born in Trenton,

NJ, JoAnn was a lifelong area resident. Her passion was education, having taught at many area institutio­ns throughout her long career. JoAnn retired from a position teaching children at Trenton Catholic Academy. She was an alumna of Trenton State, where she earned degrees at both the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels. When not in the classroom, JoAnn was a dedicated wife and mother, selflessly giving her time to whatever her family asked of her. In the free time that she was able to find, she could often be found going for walks, or in her garden, caring for her plants, and watching the hummingbir­ds and butterflie­s that would be drawn to them.

Predecease­d by her parents, Joseph and Jean Colton and her son, Lt. Keith J. Hillman; she is survived by her husband, Henry Hillman; her sons, Brant and Bryce; her brothers, Mick and John; her sisters, Jean and Sue; her daughter-in-law, Maura Hillman; and her granddaugh­ters, Corey, Kelsey and Kylie.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on October 15, 2019, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ.

All other service will be private
