TRENTON >> Little dead will be out in droves this weekend in the Capital City for the annual Halloween edition of Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market.

TPRFM holds events throughout the year, but the fall event brings the natural mix of horror and punk music to the forefront as organizer Joseph Kuzemka and the whole crew prepare to pack the Roebling Wire Works building Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“Halloween is an amazing celebration of creativity and with a staff of more than 20 lifelong horror fans, you can only imagine how stoked we are to bring back our annual Halloween get down to the City of Trenton!” Kuzemka told The Trentonian. “From the costumes in the two-day costume contest and the 10 food trucks per day to the incredible amount of talent amongst our 400+ weekend vendors and the thousands that come and celebrate with us, we’re excited to celebrate Halloween with everyone!”

The 2013 TPRFM started the tradition with 40 vendors and just a pair of food trucks, growing through the years to the current massive size with different vendors, musical acts, and food trucks each day.

Kuzemka said they originally “projected 400 attendees, we saw more than 2,000 people visit that day. It was then I knew we had lightning in a bottle.”

Working year-round to organize events like this flea market, Kuzemka and crew know they have a minor role in Trenton’s revitalization efforts and are “stoked to play a small part in what we feel is the key to rebuilding any city which is using the arts and music as a key tool.”

“Revitalization efforts are only as strong as their collective moving pieces,” Kuzemka said, “and I feel we’ve assembled a great collection of people in this city over the years who are working hard every day to ensure that our great city once again sees its former glory.”

Vendors will be selling a wide variety of goods, from vintage clothing, custom artwork, crafts, collectibles, memorabilia, music, movies and tons more.

The costume contest has divisions for kids and adults and always boasts unique prizes. Sign-ups for the contest are at the TPRFM merchandise booth, contest is at 2 p.m. both days.

Looking to update your look? Brand New Tattoo will be tattooing and Shear Revival Grooming and Beauty will cutting hair and trimming beards both days.

Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company will have beers on tap in the beer garden to pair with food offerings from food trucks ranging from vegan trucks like Savory Leaf Cafe and The Fabulous Fig to carnivorous fare from El Lechon De Negron and Ma & Pa’s Tex-Mex BBQ and everything in between.

Early arrivals get free stuff as the first 250 people in each day get a Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market “Black Swag Bag” with items donated by vendors and more.

“It’s been an absolute wild ride seeing this grow from the inside looking out,” Kuzemka said. “I can only hope others enjoy attending and experiencing it with us as much as we love hosting it.”
