Fuccello’s Custom Exhaust celebrates its 25th anniversary in Mercer County

As you pull into Fuccello’s garage there is a sign on the building that immediately catches the eyes and might just explain why owner Jim Fuccello celebrated his 25th anniversary. It reads “The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten. Quality work for a fair price.”

His customers certainly agree with this slogan because they keep bringing their vehicles back to Fuccello’s and that includes some local celebrity customers, like former NFL player Troy Vincent, for custom exhaust work and minor repairs on all domestic and foreign vehicles. For several years, Trentonian readers have voted Fuccello’s “Best Auto Custom Exhaust” in the Annual Trentonian Readers’ Choice Awards.

Over the years the number and type of vehicles worked on by Jim and his staff ranged from classic Corvettes to pickups to various foreign vehicles.

“A challenge” is what Jim likes about this business. Yes, he has had his share of vehicle challenges in his 23 years. One example that comes to mind is doing exhaust work on a classic 1959 Corvette. “I was nervous working on it and gave it the kid glove treatment,” Jim said.

Trenton folks first learned about Fuccello’s garage back when it opened on Feb. 1, 1995 in a former garage on South Olden Street, a little further up from the present location. At the time, Jim rented the building.

However, it was Jim’s dream to have his own place. “I wanted the new place to be bigger and offer more room.” That dream came true when Jim purchased an empty lot further up Olden Avenue and built his dream garage from the ground up.

Business hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mon.-Fri.; and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sat. First come, first serve. No appointment necessary.
