Authorities investigating ‘suspicious death’ of man found burned home

TRENTON » A man was found dead inside a home that was gutted by a blaze Tuesday, authorities said.

The Mercer County Homicide Task force is investigating the “suspicious death,” a spokeswoman from the prosecutor’s office said.

Firefighters were called out to the 700 block of Southard Street around 8:30 p.m. and found the deadman inside the home in the fire debris, authorities said.

His name has not been released.

The prosecutor’s arson unit and Trenton Police are also involved in the investigation.
