It’s not a winter of discontent since my daughter suggested purchasing a television antenna. Receive approximately 20 channels. It’s mostly old shows, including Charlie’s Angels, game shows like Press Your Luck, Concentration and Password, plus, local news broadcasts.

Reruns of Schitt’s Creek provide much needed laughter as COVID-19 makes another return.

Plus, professional football has come back after a ten-year disconnect of cable television service. The antenna has rabbit ears that occasionally require readjusting or movement onto the bookshelf or atop the coffee table. Or, try over there. These antenna maneuvers returned sweet memories of old television days that featured antennas wrapped in aluminum foil being moved around the living room. Musical antenna with no melodies or chairs.

So, a $25 antenna will attract wavelengths for five of six NFL Wild Card Weekend games.

On Saturday, expect Buffalo (CBS) to win over Indianapolis as Bills’ quarterback Josh Allen throws to former Minnesota Vikings’ wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

Seattle stops Rams (FOX) as Seahawks’ quarterback Russell Wilson does more with less. Finally, Tampa ekes out a close win opposite my daughter’s Washington Football Team on NBC.

ESPN will carry Sunday’s awesome showdown between Tennessee and Baltimore. This must-see game will not be seen in my living room.

Titans back to improve on last year’s disappointing loss to Kansas City in the AFC Conference Championship. Ravens want payback for last year’s 28-12 Titans beatdown in AFC conference semifinal. Plus, Titans own a 30-24 overtime victory this season.

Quoth the Ravens — Nevermore. Baltimore by 3 points in a slugfest.

New Orleans (CBS) will coast against Chicago. Bears’ offense freezes in red-zone appearances. Field goals will not beat Saints’ quarterback Drew Brees.

The Sunday nightcap features Pittsburgh and Cleveland (NBC) for a third time. What’s that Browns’ quarterback’s name? Baker Mayfield gets his big stage opportunity after a much-hyped advertising campaign for Progressive Insurance. Gotta love Cleveland runner Nicholas Chubb-a-lub.

No Pittsburgh running game could get Baker a dozen season victories. Cleveland rocks.

No matter. Teams in Green Bay and Kansas City rest for a week.

Packers and Chiefs will claim conference championships and meet for Super Bowl LV.
