Welp, I say Gonzaga is going to win the NCAA tournament because they are clearly the best team left. Of course, I’m writing this Tuesday morning, assuming the Zags won Tuesday night. If they lost, well, you know. Carry on.

Truth is, I don’t care. I know, I know, I probably shouldn’t say that out loud, as I’m legitimately getting paid right now to give my opinion on the NCAA tournament, but … I don’t have the bandwidth for NCAA sports. Too many teams.

You know, for betting purposes.

So let’s pivot to a more niche sport: Baseball! You remember baseball: A game takes about 43 hours, almost everything is a strikeout, walk, or homerun.

Yeah. Baseball! Anyway, it’s back tomorrow after a COVID-shortened 2020, and I for one cannot be more excited. Oh sure, I’m rooting for the Mets and such, but more than anything, Major League Baseball starting on-time, with vaccinations rising, and spring a-springing … well, it just feels like “normal” is closer than ever.

The crack of the bat, the smell of the grass, and … I mean goodness: How badly do you want to yell over a few dozen heads, “Gimme two with plenty of mustard!”

One day soon … one day soon.

Since I’m here, let’s do some predictions …

You know what? Mets over the Yankees in a Subway Series. Why not. I’m feeling happy today.

In the meantime, go Zags! I can still finish top 10 in my pool. (For the record, I haven’t watched one second of the NCAA tournament. Literally. Not one second.)
