Life rolls a hard and difficult ‘5’
The Road Less Traveled begins with this statement.
“Life is difficult. This is a great truth, one of the greatest truths. It is a great truth because once we truly see this truth, we transcend it. Once we truly know that life is difficult-once we truly understand and accept itthen life is no longer difficult. Because once it is accepted, the fact that life is difficult no longer matters.”
Author M. Scott Peck presented: A New Psychology of Love, Traditional Values and Spiritual Growth.
Doubtful Peck’s assessment envisioned any circumstance such as COVID-19, a pandemic that has reframed world life.
Currently, a personal emotional/anger quotient lists at 5. Yeah, wishywashy existence offers mediocrity.
Frequently feel like life compares to enjoying a chocolate walnut sundae on the Titanic. Incredibly, just when life seems headed toward some normalcy, COVID-19 pushes back.
A Costa Rica vacation looked possible last week. Now? Doubtful. Purchased beach tags for summer season at Asbury Park. Philadelphia Flower Show arrives in June with an inaugural outdoor event. Received both Moderna vaccines. Lost a sister and brother. Growing another bountiful garden.
So much of life issues have no connection to coronavirus. Trash in Chambersburg (corner of Roebling and Whittaker? OMG!) Vehicle horns blaring at 6 a.m. Waiting for a Derek Chauvin trial verdict. Dismayed by killing of Daunte Wright and Adam Toledo. Listening for the next mass shooting.
A standoff exists with good and bad. This feeling of five could move toward six or seven just as easy as a drop toward three or four.
Life is hard. God remains good.
