Bonilla highest seeded CVC grappler at state championships
The seeding and pairings are in for the New Jersey State Wrestling Championships, which will take place on Saturday and Sunday at Phillipsburg High School.
There are four wrestlers from the Colonial Valley Conference who got out of the Central Super Region and Hightstown 220-pounder Bryan Bonilla received the highest seed in the sixth spot.
Fresh off his championship at the super region, the undefeated Bonilla will face 11th seeded Shane Whitney of Lower Cape May. The possible good news for Bonilla is the favorite in the weight class and top seeded Mike Misita of Williamstown is in the other half of the bracket.
Robbinsville senior Drake Torrington was seeded ninth at 132 pounds and will open against Sean Rendeiro of St. Peter’s Prep. Should he win, Torrington will most likely get top-seeded Nico Nardone of Delbarton.
Hopewell Valley senior Josh Beigman got the No. 14 seed at 182 pounds. He will open against third-seeded Isaac Dean of Shawnee.
Also from Hopewell Valley, Brian LaCross is seeded 12th at 195 pounds and will face fifth seeded Hudson Skove of Rumson-Fair Haven.
