Mostrangel­i’s hitting helps Rowan baseball to top of NJAC

Ryan Mostrangel­i had a monster three-game series for top-seeded Rowan in the New Jersey Athletic Conference playoffs.

Mostrangel­i, the former Steinert star, was recently named to the All-NJAC second team.

Facing Stockton in the best of three first round series, Mostrangel­i was 6-for12 at the plate with a double and one RBI.

Mostrangel­i is batting .347 and has five doubles, three homers and 18 RBI for the Profs, who will face the winner of No. 4 Kean and No. 5 Montclair State

Muller, Welsh Spark Rutgers

Kyle Muller (Steinert) worked two scoreless innings and got the win in the first game for Rutgers in a three-game sweep on No. 19 Nebraska.

Muller is now 3-2 on the season with a 2.20 ERA, three saves and 17 strikeouts in 18.2 innings.

Kevin Welsh (Northern Burlington) had a great series against Nebraska batting .500 (4-for-8), with three doubles and five RBI.

Welsh is batting .257 on the season for the Scarlet Knights (17-13)

Walsh, Jantorno Spark Marist

Shea Walsh (Robbinsvil­le) was 3-for-7 in Marist’s quarterfin­al sweep of Monmouth in the MAAC Championsh­ips. Walsh also had an RBI.

Walsh has a team high 30 base hits and a second best .395 average.

Hailee Jantorno (Notre

Dame) was 2-for-4 in the sweep, and is batting .250 on the season,
