Five girls teams out of holiday action
PATERSON » A resurgence in the coronavirus has taken away some of this week’s girls’ holiday tournament action.
Trenton was supposed to play Morristown Sunday in the John F. Kennedy Lady Knights Holiday Showcase at International High, but the tournament was canceled.
A similar fate met the Ewing, Allentown and Notre Dame High, plus Princeton Day School girls, who saw their holiday tournament action ended, in some case before it started.
The Blue Devils were supposed to play Rumson- Fair Haven Monday in the 37th-annual WOBM Holiday Classic in Toms River, yet had to drop out.
The Redbirds visit to the Bridgewater-Raritan Panthers Holiday Tournament Tuesday was also called off, as were the Irish’s game in the Spartans Holiday Classic at Doane Academy later this week.
PDS’s Panthers were supposed to play in the Over The River Holiday Tournament at South Hunterdon High, however that tournament was also canceled.
